In lifespan psychology, old age is considered a developmental period in which there is a balance between gains and losses. Developmental changes in old age are multidimensional and encompass the psychological, biological, and social spheres, which are interconnected. The consequences of a decline in physical mobility include a shift in one’s self-image, a crucial component of a person’s personality, as well as the loss of certain social roles. All of this contributes to a decreased quality of life in old age. Therefore, rehabilitation for older individuals should be multidimensional, aiming to effectively enhance their quality of life during this period.
Rehabilitation, with its primary goal of maintaining or restoring the ability to function independently, especially in terms of basic daily activities, as well as improving specific organs and systems affected by dysfunction, holds great importance for enhancing the quality of life for older individuals. In our nursing Home, residents will undergo a comprehensive rehabilitation process through various therapeutic interventions, such as kinesiotherapy, physical therapy, or occupational therapy. The utilization of these therapeutic possibilities enables appropriate and non-invasive improvement procedures, ultimately reducing the duration of a resident’s disability.
